The second World Humanoid Robot Games opened in Beijing on Saturday evening, bringing together 666 teams and 2,056 robots from 16 countries.

At an exhibition hall, about 10 humanoid robots worked in a coordinated workflow, with some lifting and stacking boxes and others sorting goods along an assembly line. Together, they demonstrated a complete smart logistics process — from material handling to sorting and replenishment.

The upcoming second World Humanoid Robot Games will see the number of participating robots quadrupling from last year’s inaugural event, organizers said Thursday.
