«Over the last five years every manufacturing enterprise in the region has undergone modernization or retooling, with around Br700 million invested in this. Projects are being implemented to set up new enterprises to make chipboard, carbon black, joint prostheses, and innovative confectionery products,» he noted.
The region continues implementing projects that were launched at the previous Mill of Success. These include projects for making dry dairy products in Klimovichi District and the deep processing of oil-bearing crops in Chaussy District.
The chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee also cited examples of successful cooperation and the creation of joint ventures. Among them is OOO Bair West, which ventilation and air conditioning systems are installed at large oil refineries and ore mining plants, shipyards, and nuclear power plants, including those built by Rosatom. OAO Management Company of the Holding Company Bobruiskagromash supplies machine kits for balers, trailers, and semi-trailers to an assembly enterprise in Kazakhstan. ZAO Servolux Agro is implementing a large-scale investment project in Uzbekistan to create a complex to make poultry meat and compound feed.
Traditionally, the free economic zone (FEZ) Mogilev is an active participant in the forum. As the head of the administration of the free economic zone Pavel Marinenko noted, the Mill of Success combines several important areas. «For the free economic zone Mogilev, this is an opportunity to invite guests we work with. For the guests it is an opportunity to come and stay with us. We have an excellent city and oblast. The timing is wonderful. Our guests combine an introduction to the region with attending a business event. It is very important that people, especially those coming from afar, can feel the region and the mood of its residents. Important for them to see the smiles of the people who live here, look at the laughing children, and understand that the oblast develops actively, construction is underway: new facilities, new manufacturing sites. It shapes the image of the region. And the Mill of Success is a wonderful image-building event for Mogilev Oblast. We are glad that FEZ Mogilev also contributes to this work,» he said.
In addition to presenting the region’s capabilities the forum provides a chance to find new partners. And not just on paper, but with specific ideas and proposals. «As part of this forum we have three investment agreements on the way, which we will conclude. These are three new projects to be implemented within the framework of FEZ Mogilev. We have agreements with our institutional partners,» Pavel Marinenko emphasized. «This platform is also a great opportunity to summarize the results of the inter-forum work that has been carried out throughout the year.»
