The Belarusian athlete reached the podium in the girls’ 3m springboard event for competitors aged under 15. Earlier on 23 June, Aliaksandra Puz advanced through qualification with the third-best result among 20 participants, before taking second place in the evening final with a score of 377.10 points. The gold medal went to Ukraine’s Alina Polonets with 388.00 points, while Russia’s Ekaterina Shmeleva finished third on 370.45.
In May, the 13-year-old Belarusian won four gold medals at the national senior diving championships. Earlier, Aliaksandra Puz also triumphed at the Hungarian Open Championships. Aliaksandra Puz and Tsimafei Patskevich narrowly missed out on a podium finish in the mixed event at the continental junior forum.
Aliaksandra Puz will next compete in the platform and 1m springboard events. Belarus is also represented in Budapest by Emiliya Rakhmanko, who will compete in the junior girls’ U18 category. Divers from 27 countries are taking part in the EA Junior Diving Championships in Budapest, which will continue through 28 June.
