The project is about the provision of free, high-tech surgical treatment and health checks for 500 children suffering from congenital heart defects across SCO member states over a five-year period. It was announced at the SCO Plus summit in the Chinese city of Tianjin in September 2025. The Belarusian side highly appreciates its humanitarian significance. The project not only helps restore patients’ health but also serves as a vivid example of deepening practical cooperation within the SCO, growing mutual understanding and good-neighborly relations among member countries.
Among the distinguished guests at the project launch ceremony were Zheng Zhe, Deputy Head of the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China; Nurlan Yermekbayev, Secretary-General of the SCO; Cui Li, Deputy Chairperson of the SCO Committee on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation; and representatives of the diplomatic corps from SCO member states.
