Belarus, Kyrgyzstan to expand cooperation in exchange trade

08.06.2026 | 16:21

Belarus and Kyrgyzstan will expand cooperation in exchange trade, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE).

The exchange-trade vector of cooperation between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan became one of the key issues on the agenda of the Belarus-Kyrgyzstan business forum, which took place during the official visit of Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin to Bishkek.

BUCE noted that Belarus and Kyrgyzstan plan to intensify interaction in the development of exchange trade at the business community level, ensuring direct contact between Belarusian and Kyrgyz entrepreneurs. The interests of commodity producers from both countries will be taken into account, allowing both Belarus and Kyrgyzstan to apply exchange mechanisms equally effectively to realize their export potential.

According to Konstantin Chapkovsky, a leading specialist of BUCE’s foreign economic activity department, in 2026 exchange trade between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan is showing momentum, but significant reserves remain for qualitative and quantitative improvements.

«In the first five months of this year, the total value of transactions by Kyrgyz exchange participants grew by 27% year-on-year. This happened primarily due to an expansion of the product range involved in export and import transactions. For example, timber and chilled beef began to be regularly shipped from Belarus to Kyrgyzstan, while raw materials for the textile industry began to be imported from Kyrgyzstan to Belarus. At the same time, there are several more product groups for which mutually beneficial exchange trade could be organized. Among these promising niches are industrial and consumer goods. The advantage is that the assortment here is practically unlimited, so Kyrgyz enterprises can enter the exchange platform with virtually any product in demand in Belarus,» the BUCE representative said.

Since the beginning of the year, three new companies from Kyrgyzstan have been accredited on BUCE, and currently 44 residents of Kyrgyzstan are using the Belarusian exchange platform. The share of Belarusian exports in the total exchange trade between the two countries is 86%.
