Belarus presents new cooperation models with Uzbekistan

17.06.2026 | 12:35
Belarus is offering Uzbekistan three practical vectors of investment resilience, Belarus’ Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin said at the plenary session of the 5th international investment forum “Investment Resilience: New Frontiers, New Partnerships” in Tashkent on 17 June, BelTA has learned.

«Belarus is offering Uzbekistan three practical vectors of investment resilience. The first is industrial partnership. Simple trade is no longer capable of ensuring the resilience we are talking about. The future lies in large‑scale industrial cooperation and the creation of integrated production chains. The Belarusian side is ready to invest in joint industrial projects, ensuring full technology transfer and the creation of modern jobs. This represents a fundamentally different level of trust and economic security,» Aleksandr Turchin said.

He gave examples of the work carried out by Belarusian investors in Uzbekistan. For instance, with the participation of the Belarusian company Energokomplekt, a plant for the production of cable and wire goods is being built. At the facilities of the Uzbek partner Agromaks Technik, assembly of Belarusian tractors has been launched. In addition, the Belarusian agricultural holding Servoluks is constructing a modern complex in Uzbekistan for the production of poultry meat and compound feed. The project involves investments of about $170 million. The reciprocity of investment cooperation is also confirmed by the activities of Uzbekistan’s investors in Belarus. Preparations are underway to open the Uzbekistan Trade House in Minsk, and a project on meat livestock production based on agricultural enterprises in Vitebsk Oblast is being explored.

The second vector is intellectual technologies and the digital autonomy of production. «For Belarus, with its strong industrial base, deep digital transformation is a strategic priority: the key to high productivity and competitiveness. Uzbekistan’s IT market is also gaining momentum. The national strategy Digital Uzbekistan 2030 sets priorities for the development of digital infrastructure, including e‑government, new security systems, and the ‘smart city’ concept,» the prime minister noted.

In his view, a promising area of cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan is the development and implementation of joint IT solutions. «This is the shortest path to creating high‑margin industries capable of dominating the regional market. These areas have already been included in the Belarus-Uzbekistan cooperation roadmap until 2030. Belarus offers its partners not to chase the leaders in traditional sectors, but to enter projects of the highest technological tiers right away. Residents of the Belarusian High-Tech Park are developing solutions based on artificial intelligence and computer vision that are already used in industry from product lifecycle management to autonomous warehouse logistics. Combining the financial, industrial, and digital potential of Belarus and Uzbekistan is a ready‑made formula for the technological sovereignty of our countries,» Aleksandr Turchin emphasized.

The third vector is investment in the service industry and tourism.

The international investment forum is taking place in Tashkent on 16-18 June. It has brought together representatives of global business, sovereign funds, development banks, and governments from more than 95 countries. It is the largest international platform in the region for discussing strategies to strengthen Central Asia’s role in the global investment market. The forum was first held in March 2022. More than 2,000 investors and guests from 56 countries took part. In 2025, the forum gathered more than 8,000 participants, including around 3,000 foreign guests from 97 countries and 450 high-level delegates.
