A working visit of the Belarusian delegation led by Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) continues. Today he met with the head of the Russian region Aisen Nikolaev. The parties discussed the achieved results and prospects for bilateral cooperation.

«Our trade turnover is growing, new product items are appearing, food shipments are increasing, and our industrial sectors allow us to build a real strategic partnership. Thanks to the work of the representative office of Yakutia Railway Company, a real ‘infrastructure bridge’ has appeared between Minsk and Yakutsk. In January-July 2026, 588 tonnes of various products were sent to Yakutia through the representative office. We have great potential for cooperation: from expanding shipments, aftersales service, and machinery modernization to developing tourism and humanitarian ties,» Yuri Chebotar said.

In addition to traditional sectors of the economy, the parties noted prospects in tourism. «Belarus is ready to offer Yakutia residents unique opportunities for health-improving, ecological, and cultural-historical tourism. In turn, for Belarusians, Yakutia is a land of mesmerizing nature and distinctive culture, which arouse immense interest. The development of direct tourist routes and joint programs will strengthen our ties,» the economy minister stressed.

As result of the meeting the parties agreed to implement a joint action plan.

The working visit of the minister continued with a trip to a number of infrastructure facilities. The head of the Economy Ministry visited the railway junction in the town of Nizhny Bestyakh. It serves as a crucial link in the delivery chain for Belarus-made goods. Yuri Chebotar also examined the progress in construction of the Lena Bridge — a massive transport and logistics project that will eventually provide year-round transport accessibility for the region and will be in demand for the delivery of Belarusian cargoes.

Tuimart Company became another point on the itinerary. The chain acts as one of the main distributors of Belarusian food products in the region. During the meeting with the management, an agreement was reached to expand the range of supplied products.
