«We are actively discussing issues related to acceptable financing conditions both in terms of maturities and interest rates. As potential projects, we have already formed a list of 50 investment initiatives aimed at technological modernization, the creation of new production facilities in Belarus, the implementation of infrastructure projects, and continued financial support for our institutions, not only state-owned ones. We see significant potential. We will work on aspects that will increase the efficiency of attracting financing from the EDB,» Vladislav Tatarinovich said.
Belarus has been a shareholder of the Eurasian Development Bank since 2011. «During this period, with the financial support of the institution, we have successfully implemented 54 projects in various sectors: manufacturing, infrastructure, and energy. In total, this amounts to around $3 billion. We are actively cooperating with the EDB to fully achieve the key indicators defined in the current strategy for 2021-2026,» the minister noted.
«Today, the EDB remains an accessible financial institution for attracting external financing. As part of the Bank’s overall strategy for the next five-year period, we plan to complete the development of our country strategy for the Bank’s work in Belarus by September. Here, we intend to address the key tasks recently outlined by the president of our country in the plan for cooperation with banks. Financial support and the Bank’s work in Belarus must continue. On this, we have a full mutual understanding with the Bank. The Bank confirms that it will not only continue its work but also plans to scale it up in terms of financial support,» Vladislav Tatarinovich concluded.
