Belarus’ sugar beet harvest reaches 2m tonnes

Belarus has harvested 2 million tonnes of sugar beet, BelTA learned the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.



According to operational data as of 1 October 2026, Belarus has cropped 2,065,000 tonnes of sugar beet. The average yield is 460 centners per hectare, and the sugar content is more than 16%. The harvesting rate exceeds last year’s.

Sugar beet has been harvested from an area of 45,000 hectares, which is 41% of the plan. The regional breakdown is the following: Minsk Oblast — 809,000 tonnes, Grodno Oblast — 715,000 tonnes, Brest Oblast — 340,000 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast — 178,000 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast — 18,000 tonnes, Gomel Oblast — 5,000 tonnes.

A total of 81% of the harvested crop has been transported to beet receiving points. Deliveries under the state order have reached 1,340,000 tonnes, or 40% of the plan.
