Belarus to expand health resort room capacity by 30%

28.09.2026 | 20:00

Belarus aims to increase the number of rooms at national health resort facilities, Deputy Director of the National Tourism Agency Denis Bezhok told the media on 28 September, BelTA has learned.

«We plan to increase the number of rooms by 30% because health resorts have enormous potential. We have health resorts ranging from 200-300 rooms to 500-600 rooms at a single facility. We say that if occupancy is near 100%, it is easy to increase it further,» Denis Bezhok said.

According to him, Russian businesses may also invest in Belarusian health resorts. «We are looking more at full-fledged investment projects. We have a number of land plots where new facilities are planned to be built. We are looking for investors there, and we already have a number of developments and projects in the pipeline, and future agreements,» he said. He noted that there are more than 10 such land plots, including in Mogilev Oblast and Vitebsk Oblast, and in the area of Braslav Lakes.

The National Tourism Agency of Belarus, with the assistance of the Republican Union of Tourism Industry and the Russian Association of Health Tourism and Corporate Health, organized an international practical conference of the Health Tourism Leaders Club. The event was held at the business and cultural facility of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia. The conference focused on discussing strategic areas for the development of the health resort industries of the two countries. The agenda focused on effective management, the introduction of advanced medical technologies, marketing, sales, and digital promotion of health and wellness services.
