The women’s competition featured the national and U21 teams of Belarus and Russia. In the preliminary stage, Belarus’ senior team beat the younger Belarusian side 5-1 and Russia U21 team 4-2, but lost 1-3 to the senior Russian team.

In the semifinal, the Belarusian players defeated Russia’s junior side again, winning 4-1. However, in the final on 1 September, they failed to avenge their preliminary-round defeat to Russia’s senior team, losing 3-5. In the third-place match, Belarus U21 narrowly lost 2-3 to Russia.

The Belarus women’s national team included players from the country’s four strongest clubs: HC Minsk, HC Viktoria (Smolevichi), GHC Ritm Grodno, and HC Tekstilshchik (Baranovichi), and Palina Dmitrievich of Kazan-based HC Dinamo-Ak Bars.
