A combat readiness check of the Armed Forces continues in one of the units of the 120th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry.

After receiving orders to prepare for designated missions, the unit underwent a readiness check. The process was overseen by representatives of the State Secretariat of the Security Council, led by Deputy State Secretary Major General Andrei Gorbatenko.

According to Andrei Gorbatenko, the check assesses the battalion’s manning levels, personnel assignments in accordance with the roster, the availability and technical readiness of weapons, specialized military hardware, alongside supply reserves. «Staff members of the State Secretariat are here to check how well the battalion met all its targets within the given deadline. We will draw and analyze conclusions based on these results before moving to the next phase of the readiness check,» he said.

The next stage will involve control lessons in tactical, firearms, and physical training. The deputy state secretary of the Security Council also noted that the check would assess how the shortcomings identified during the president-ordered inspection of the Armed Forces in H1 2026 were addressed, and how the experience of the special military operation is incorporated in troop training. «All findings from this check will be compiled and reported to the president and the leadership of the Armed Forces to be factored into the training of other military units,» Andrei Gorbatenko added.
