Belarusian air carrier Belavia launches direct regular flight to Bangkok

26.10.2026 | 14:00

The Belarusian air carrier Belavia has launched its first direct regular flight to the capital of Thailand, BelTA learned from the airline’s press service.

The first flight to Bangkok departed from Minsk National Airport on the night of 25 October. The flight will be 9 hours 55 minutes outbound and on average about an hour longer on the return. Flights will be operated once a week, on Sundays.

According to the airline, Thailand is a promising destination. But real plans to connect the two countries with direct regular air service emerged in the summer of last year. At that time, the launch of air service was discussed during the official visit of Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov to the Kingdom of Thailand (on 16 July 2025). In June 2025, Belavia added Airbus A330-200 long-haul airliners to its fleet, capable of making direct flights over distances of 8,000 kilometers or more.

Belavia began its flight program to Thailand with a charter format to the city of Pattaya, U-Tapao Airport and the island of Phuket in January 2026. Now the Belarusian airline has reached a new level with a flight program to Bangkok.

«Flights to Thailand are in demand among tourists. In the winter season, we add Phuket to a regular schedule, and now tickets can be purchased not only from travel agencies but also from our website and sales offices. The first regular flight was operated last Wednesday, and from 29 October flights will be operated twice a week,» the press service said.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, its press secretary Ruslan Varankov took part in the ceremonial launch of the flight. Addressing passengers, he noted that the launch of regular service is a significant step in the development of Belarusian-Thai ties. Belarus is actively moving closer to Asia in politics, economy and tourism, and direct air service opens up not only tourism opportunities but also a practical path to new business contacts regardless of the season.

A meeting with Thai travel agents and tourism authorities is planned in Bangkok on 26 October. In particular, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and concurrently to the Kingdom of Thailand Vladimir Borovikov will take part in the event in Bangkok.

The airline added that departure from Minsk to the capital of Thailand is at 03.10, arrival in Bangkok at 17.05. The return flight from Bangkok is at 19.05, arrival in Minsk at 01.50 (the following day).
