In September, Viktoriia Safonova placed fourth at a qualifying tournament in Beijing, securing an Olympic quota. Last week, the International Olympic Committee confirmed Safonova’s eligibility to compete at the 2026 Olympic Games under a neutral status.

At the previous Olympic Games in China, the Belarusian figure skater finished 13th in the women’s singles. The 2026 Olympic Games will be held in Italy on 6-22 February 2026.
