The bill provides for the establishment of new principles for the activities of the State Control Committee: independence from the activities of other state bodies, political parties, other public associations and organizations, and officials, as well as the prevention of offenses in the economic sector.

The State Control Committee is also vested with control functions over the Development Bank of Belarus and oversight of compliance with the technical regulations of the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union.
