Aleksandr Volfovich said: «In line with the concept approved by the head of state, we continue testing the government agencies belonging to the national security system. Last week the defense minister was handed an instruction to bring to combat readiness the 51st Artillery Brigade. And now the Armed Forces are carrying out a set of measures to bring this unit to combat readiness.»
The state secretary stressed that it was no secret to anyone that the head of state had given instructions to also check other bodies belonging to the military organization of the state. «In particular, the Internal Affairs Ministry is one of the main bodies. This is why today the internal affairs minister was handed an instruction to put on combat alert the 7th Separate Special Police Brigade of the Internal Troops of the Internal Affairs Ministry, which is stationed in Vitebsk,» he remarked.
Belarusian Internal Affairs Minister Ivan Kubrakov received the president’s instruction, studied it, and ordered the Internal Troops command to get down to work. «We will evaluate, we will see how algorithms have been developed in the Internal Affairs Ministry, in the Internal Troops,» Aleksandr Volfovich added.
The state secretary noted that as far as he knows, structures of the Internal Affairs Ministry have never undergone such tests. «We will check the entire sequence of actions starting with tasks formulated by the internal affairs minister and ending with the commanding officer of the unit. This is why we will see what algorithms have been developed by the Internal Affairs Ministry in comparison with the Armed Forces,» he said.
Aleksandr Volfovich stressed that the test will focus on combat readiness and mobilization readiness of the Internal Troops of the Internal Affairs Ministry, including complete mobilization and bringing personnel levels up to wartime standards. «We will see how the Internal Troops has embraced the experience of [Russia’s] special military operation [in Ukraine] and other modern conflicts. The Internal Troops have to accomplish peculiar tasks: first and foremost, ensuring public order in the territory of our country in conditions of a destabilizing situation. In order to bring the conditions to combat as closely as possible, the test will involve simulated enemy action. We will see how the commanding officer of the brigade carries out missions while dealing with the changing situation. This is why we will evaluate, we will see and make corresponding conclusions, which will be reported to the head of state,» he summarized.
