The incident occurred in the afternoon on 31 August. Eyewitnesses called 112 and reported that a moose and her calf had fallen into a quarry pond in the village of Zamoshye. The animals could not get out on their own.

Rescuers from the Emergencies Ministry came to their aid. They used a fire hose to pull the animals out of the water trap. The moose and her calf were successfully rescue and did not require veterinary attention.
