The interaction between Belarus and Russia’s Bashkortostan makes a significant contribution to the development of the Union State, Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich said at the opening of B2B negotiations between companies of Belarus and Bashkortostan, with the participation of Rustam Muratov, First Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of Bashkortostan, BelTA has learned.

Viktor Karankevich noted that the event is taking place as part of an important occasion — the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, which receives special attention from the presidents of Belarus and the Russian Federation.

«Serious contributions to the development of the Union State are also made by bilateral interaction and the relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Bashkortostan. Today’s event also demonstrates great interest from business communities. It is a real practical opportunity for meetings and discussions and it represents a certain growth point. It has brought together more than 120 economic entities and organizations from Belarus and Bashkortostan covering a wide range of industries and areas of activity. These include, first and foremost, industrial cooperation in mechanical engineering, automotive manufacturing, microelectronics, opportunities for automation and digitalization of technological processes, the housing and utilities sector, the road construction industry, new technologies and also agriculture. This is far from the full list of areas that are of mutual interest for mutually beneficial growth,» Viktor Karankevich noted.

Viktor Karankevich clarified that the effectiveness of the work of both the enterprises themselves and the economies of the two parties and the Union State as a whole will depend precisely on the activity of companies and their commitment to generating new ideas. «So generate ideas, exchange experience, technologies, and competencies, and complement each other. I am confident that today’s meeting will result in new joint projects for long-term cooperation,» he added.

Several agreements were also concluded during the event. In particular, an agreement on establishing twin-city relations between Sterlitamak and Baranovichi and an agreement on establishing twin-city relations between Krasnokamsk District of Bashkortostan and Shchuchin District of Grodno Oblast. In addition, a cooperation agreement was signed between the New Industrial Technologies companies and Minsk Automobile Plant.
