Event tourism in Brest Oblast showcased through partisan camp reenactment

01.06.2026 | 10:22

Event tourism in Brest Oblast took center stage as the National Tourism Agency of Belarus held an off-site seminar titled «Event Tourism: A Driver of Regional Development». The seminar took place in Ivatsevichi District on 31 May, BelTA has learned.

Its purpose was to introduce tourism professionals and tour guides to the military-historical reenactment «A Day in the Life of a Partisan Unit». This themed festival is traditionally held on the last Sunday of May at the Khovanshchina Partisan Glory Memorial Complex. The event recreates everyday life in a partisan camp hidden in the swamps of the local forest tract: the very place where the headquarters of Brest Oblast’s partisan formation operated during the Great Patriotic War.

Participants laid flowers at the mass grave of soldiers and partisans in the village of Zhitlin and watched a historical reenactment of wartime events. They were also given an interactive tour of the memorial complex. During the festival, visitors could explore interactive zones, take photos, and visit local vendors.

The National Tourism Agency organizes such off-site seminars to promote and develop various types of tourism aimed at different segments of the tourist market.

In addition to the Khovanshchina complex, participants also visited the Nekhachevo guest manor and continued the program with a trip to the Vygonoshchanskoye nature reserve, a protected area of national significance.
