The exhibition showcasing official state heraldic symbols of the Republic of Belarus has opened at the National Library, BelTA has learned.

Belarus’ Justice Minister Yevgeny Kovalenko said that the exhibition is timed to coincide with the Day of the State Flag, State Emblem and State Anthem of the country, which takes place immediately after the celebration of Victory Day. «These symbols symbolize the enormous contribution of the Belarusian people to the Victory over fascism and the labor feats accomplished by our fathers and grandfathers in rebuilding the national economy. The State Emblem, State Anthem, and State Flag are what make our country united and recognizable,» he explained.

Among the key elements of the exhibition are the standards of the State Emblem, State Flag, and State Anthem of Belarus and the examples of the documents establishing these symbols.

The exhibition displays the documents on the activities of the Heraldic Council under the President of Belarus, documents, materials and the standards for each type of official heraldic symbol established by the Heraldic Council and the heraldic symbols of Belarusian regions.

Additionally, the standards of the insignia of state institutions and organizations are on display, along with examples of uniform elements.

«Official state heraldry is not only a tribute to past events but also a contribution to preserving the historical memory of our homeland and ensuring its continued unity and development,» Yevgeny Kovalenko emphasized.

The display has been organized jointly by the Department of Archives and Records Management at the Justice Ministry and the National Archives of the country.
