«Belarus ranks among the top 10 countries in the world with the lowest infant mortality rate. It stood at 2.4 per 1,000 live births in 2025,» Ivan Kurlovich said.
He also highlighted other notable achievements. Belarus ranks 25th globally for maternal care, while it is also among the best countries in which to give birth, ranking 40th out of 180 countries. Belarus ranks fourth in terms of child survival from birth to the age of five.
According to the expert, these achievements in maternal and child healthcare would be impossible without scientific support. He noted that Belarus is currently implementing the research subprogram for 2026-2030. The program focuses on developing and providing scientific support for new methods of medical care.
