«We are very pleased with how dynamically cooperation with Kyrgyzstan is developing. Last year, trade rose quite substantially. This year, the first-half figures are already exceeding last year’s,» Maxim Ryzhenkov said. «Our trade, by the way, is quite balanced in financial terms.»

The minister noted that industrial cooperation between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan is also picking up pace. On 31 August, a ceremony was held in Bishkek to sign an agreement on launching a joint venture to manufacture electrical transformers. Kozlov Minsk Electrotechnical Plant is participating in the project on the Belarusian side. The official launch of the plant is scheduled for 11 September.

«This is a very good example of how our states can work together transferring technology and creating jobs in Kyrgyzstan. At first, we simply sold transformers to Kyrgyzstan. Then we found a dealership, took a closer look at him and suggested a project for industrial assembly on the basis of that dealership,» Maxim Ryzhenkov said.

«The employees of this enterprise underwent an internship at the Kozlov plant in Minsk. Later, representatives from the Minsk plant also came here and helped set up the production process. We know that there are already many orders from both private and state-owned companies. We hope that this project will also contribute to Kyrgyzstan’s energy security,» the minister concluded.

A memorandum of cooperation on the project to assemble power transformers was signed between Kozlov Minsk Electrotechnical Plant, the Kyrgyz Transformer Plant, and Kyrgyzindustry in April 2024. A production site was allocated at the production facilities of Bishkek Stamping Plant.
