The Belarusian minister of foreign affairs warmly welcomed the high-ranking guest and members of the Omani delegation. «I am very glad that you kept your promise to visit Belarus. You have a very busy program for this visit,» he said.

Maxim Ryzhenkov noted that the Omani delegation’s program in Belarus includes tours of several agricultural enterprises that are potential partners for cooperation.

This year, the Sultanate of Oman is participating on an unprecedented scale in the Belagro exhibition opening in Minsk. For the first time, Oman is presenting a collective exposition at the forum.

The Belarusian minister of foreign affairs expressed satisfaction with the strong positive momentum in the development of bilateral cooperation in line with the previously approved roadmap.

As BelTA reported earlier, in April Maxim Ryzhenkov led a Belarusian delegation to Oman. A meeting with Oman’s Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Saud Al Habsi also took place at that time.

Belarus expressed its readiness to supply dairy and meat products, cheeses and butter to Oman, and to import fish, seafood, dates and fruit in return.

One of the key areas of practical cooperation is the ongoing work to establish joint ventures in the Sultanate, including for the production of baby food and powdered milk. Leveraging Oman’s advantageous geopolitical position in the region will make it possible to supply Belarusian products not only to Oman but also to other markets in the Gulf and East Africa.

During the April meeting in Oman, the possibilities of domestic agricultural and self-propelled equipment, adapted to working conditions in Oman, were also showcased.
