The main topic of the report to the president was the situation in the agricultural sector of Minsk Oblast, including the state of the fields. «The prospects we see today are encouraging. First and foremost, the condition of the winter crops. We have practically not lost any winter rapeseed (losses are under 2%) or other winter grain crops (losses also under 2%). Moreover, we carried out all the technological stages of spring sowing on time. We also have high hopes for favorable weather conditions that will help us harvest a good crop,» said Aleksei Kushnarenko.
He also specified what would be considered a good harvest. «The head of state set a benchmark that we cannot fall below. Last year, we harvested 2.7 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed and corn. That is the minimum we must achieve. But we have set ourselves a goal, and the head of state has repeatedly made it clear that this is a long-term task, to reach 3 million tonnes of grain. That is what we will strive for. In principle, all the prerequisites are in place to achieve this,» the Minsk Oblast governor emphasized.
