On Monday, 28 September, the Bisons hosted Russia’s HC Lada Togliatti. Neither team scored in the opening period, although the Belarusian club looked more active and created more chances. HC Dinamo Minsk turned their advantage into goals after the break. Early in the second period, the hosts earned a power play, which Stanislav Galiyev converted just seven seconds later.
A couple of minutes later, Brady Lyle doubled Dinamo’s lead. HC Lada players received two more penalties during the period, and on both occasions the Minsk side capitalized on the visitors’ infractions, with Sam Anas and Xavier Ouellet finding the net. The team’s captain Chris Tierney provided three assists within seven minutes.
In the final period, two young forwards reached personal milestones: Arseny Chukhrayev scored his first KHL goal, while Kirill Lozovsky, who assisted on the goal, recorded his first point in the league. Late in the period, HC Lada nearly spoiled the evening in Minsk by scoring four unanswered goals, but HC Dinamo Minsk held on for the win. Final score: 5-4.
This win marked the 500th for the Minsk team over 18 years of competing in the KHL. The team have now won three straight home games this season and moved up to eighth place in the Western Conference. Sergei Brylin’s side will next face HC CSKA Moscow on 1 October.
