HC Dinamo Minsk left pointless at home for first time this KHL season

02.10.2026 | 13:00

On 1 October, HC Dinamo Minsk saw their home point streak snapped in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) regular season, BelTA has learned.

In the second game of their home stand, Sergei Brylin’s team hosted HC CSKA Moscow, one of the Western Conference leaders. The visitors took the lead midway through the opening period and doubled their advantage just 30 seconds later. The Moscow side scored their third goal 33 minutes into the game, prompting HC Dinamo Minsk goaltender Zach Fucale to be replaced by Vasily Demchenko.

The Minsk Bisons finally got on the board early in the final period, with Daniil Sotishvili scoring on the power play. Late in the game, the hosts’ coaching staff pulled their goalie for an extra skater, but the gamble resulted only in an empty-net goal, buried by HC CSKA Moscow’s Belarusian forward Ivan Drozdov. The game ended in a 1-4 defeat for HC Dinamo Minsk.

This marks the first time this season the Bisons have left the Minsk Arena ice empty-handed. Previously at home, HC Dinamo Minsk had claimed three victories, with their only losses coming in overtime or a shootout. Meanwhile, the Moscow club secured their seventh consecutive win. The team will continue their home stand on 3 October, hosting the reigning Gagarin Cup champions, HC Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.
