The premiere screening of the movie «Our Space» by the Belarusfilm studio took place at the Pioneer movie theater. The movie tells about the role of Belarusians in space exploration.

The movie director, Dmitri Los, said that he was inspired by the flight of Belarusian cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya. «This is a really amazing and significant event for our independent Belarus. And there are not only cosmonauts in our country, but a lot of people working on the space industry,» he said.

Work on «Our Space» began in September 2024, then they also determined the timing — 26 minutes. «When I just started working on the project, there were such fools who said: „Where will you get the material for 26 minutes?“ But in fact, it turned out that we have to shoot a whole series of movies about the Belarusian space,» said Dmitry Los. In order to create almost a half-hour picture, as the filmmaker said, a lot of archival documents were reviewed and met with various experts. «In the shot you will see the chronicle and interviews with scientists, cosmonauts. We filmed interviews with Vladimir Kovalenok, Marina Vasilevskaya and Oleg Novitsky, and also captured their visits to Novitsky’s homeland — he is a native of Belarus. And, of course, it’s a very responsible job, when your protagonists are Heroes of the Soviet Union, Hero of Russia and Hero of Belarus,» he said.

Dmitry Los emphasized that the material about the contribution of Belarusians in the exploration of outer space will be enough for more than one movie. «When you immerse yourself in the information deeper and deeper, you are amazed at how much you didn’t really know and how much more there is to tell and convey. Because what our state and our President are doing for the development of the space industry inspires respect,» he said and added that the next movie he would make about the Academy of Sciences and its activities for the development of space. 
Natalia Gagarina also became a guest of the premiere at the Pioneer movie theater. She noted that there are a lot of movies about space. «And it must be said that not all the movies correspond to reality and historical truth, so I’m glad to be here today and watch a Belarusian movie about space,» she said.

The movie was prepared by order of the Ministry of Culture. Deputy Head of the Department of Cinematography of the Ministry of Culture Kristina Melnikova said that the idea of creating a series of documentaries about famous personalities and various areas that are developing in Belarus has been on the agenda for a long time. «Therefore, since last year we have been announcing a competition of scripts and synopses. And the field of these topics includes the theme of space.» 
Kristina Melnikova informed that the screening of the movie on the day of the premiere began in the whole country «Standard theatrical distribution lasts for several months. The movie will reach both big cities and small villages, in other words, every viewer of the Republic of Belarus will be able to watch this movie,» said Kristina Melnikova.
