Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko sent greetings to the people of Austria as the nation celebrates the National Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

«This day is of great significance to all citizens of Austria and is a symbol of freedom, unity, devotion to the principles of peace and historical responsibility,» the message reads.

The head of state noted that Austria has traditionally served as a platform for international dialogue and the achievement of mutual understanding. «In the modern world, where contradictions between states are becoming increasingly complex and the world order as we know it is changing inexorably and rapidly, a balanced position of neutrality is acquiring particular value,» the Belarusian leader emphasized. «Belarus advocates the resumption of constructive cooperation between Minsk and Vienna, which we built together over decades. On this foundation, we are ready to create new opportunities for fruitful interaction.»

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished the people of Austria to remain faithful to their wise historical choice and to contribute to the establishment of harmony and stability in Europe.
