Lukashenko arrives in Astana to attend EAEU summit, economic forum

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has arrived in Kazakhstan on a working visit to attend the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit and the 5th Eurasian Economic Forum, BelTA has learned.



The head of state will address the plenary session of the economic forum, themed The EAEU in the Global Digital Race: Betting on Artificial Intelligence in Astana on 28 May. According to the press service of the Belarusian leader, Aleksandr Lukashenko will present the Belarusian side’s position on technological cooperation within the EAEU and the implementation of artificial intelligence in real economy, providing examples of domestic experience in this field.

The agenda of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting, which will take place on 29 May, includes about two dozen items. The summit will be held in both narrow and expanded formats. The heads of state will discuss the development of international trade and cooperation with EAEU partners, the use of artificial intelligence, customs legislation issues, the implementation of joint projects, and a number of others.
