«We are no longer trying to figure out how agriculture should work. We are now identifying future growth points for agriculture. What we envisioned 10 to 15 years ago, we have already achieved. We have earned our $10 billion [referring to 2025 export revenue from food and agricultural raw materials]. What next? How do we reach $20 billion in exports? Not just through higher prices, but through intensifying agricultural development,» Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
Speaking about the priority tasks for the future, he named the construction of dairy complexes in place of small farms and a high standard of farming. At the same time, it is necessary to decide on the future of collective farms. «We merge them, split them up, transfer them into private ownership...» the head of state noted.
Turning to private enterprises, Aleksandr Lukashenko mentioned Krasny Bor Agro, which he visited on 15 October during a working trip to Verkhnedvinsk District. A 3,200-head complex for housing and fattening Aberdeen Angus cattle was recently completed there, focused on full-cycle beef production. There are also plans to build two dairy complexes. Despite its scale, Krasny Bor Agro employs relatively few people thanks to automation.
