07.09.2026 | 16:00

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko assessed the performance of the Belarusian parliament as he received a report from Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko on 7 September, BelTA has learned.

The head of state noted that the next session of the House of Representatives will begin on 15 September. In this regard, the president asked about the readiness of the parliamentary corps for this work, and also about the legislative agenda.

«It seems to me that overall the parliament is working well. The House of Representatives is minding its own business. I understand that the house in general, and its members, are in a steady groove. I don’t see any particular concerns. As a former MP myself, I understand that things are proceeding calmly and well,» Aleksandr Lukashenko said. «Legislative work is hard work. It does not tolerate sudden bursts. Our parliament is doing its job. That is my view, my impression.»
