Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is making a working trip to Zhitkovichi District, Gomel Oblast on 14 August, BelTA has learned.

The head of state will tour the farm of Mikhail Shrub, which was established in 1993. In 2002, following the merger with the Path of Communism collective farm, the agricultural land area increased to 1,860 hectares. A new impetus for development came in 2010, after the president visited the farm.

The main areas of activity include dairy and beef cattle farming, meat processing, pig farming, vegetable growing, and vegetable processing. The farm is a key agricultural enterprise in Zhitkovichi District, accounting for over 30% of the district’s gross agricultural output.

The farm’s agricultural land covers 7,700 hectares, with 4,800 hectares under plow. A comprehensive modernization program has delivered a state-of-the-art dairy complex with capacity for 2,000 cows, as well as new workshops, vegetable storage and pre-sale facilities, and a modern fleet of agricultural machinery. The farm is also expanding its trade and tourism operations, including a growing network of its own stores and cafés.
