Lukashenko offers condolences over Ali Khamenei’s death in Iran due to treacherous attack

elarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent condolences to Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian over the death of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei, the press service of the head of state told BelTA.

«It is with deep sorrow and grief that the Republic of Belarus received the tragic news of the death of the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Khamenei as a result of a treacherous attack,» the condolence message reads. «For decades he served the people, always guided by loyalty to tradition and responsibility to future generations. His wisdom and foresight earned him high recognition and well-deserved authority far beyond the borders of his country. The spiritual leader remained faithful to his people until his last breath and courageously accepted a martyr’s death, defending the sovereignty and independence of Iran.»

«The memory of Ali Khamenei and his service to his country will remain in the hearts of millions of people. His life’s journey will remain part of Iran’s national heritage and an important page in world history,» the president emphasized.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that he had had the honor of meeting this outstanding statesman, who has made a great contribution to the advancement of comprehensive cooperation between Iran and Belarus: «His good name and courage will remain in our memory.»

«At this sad time on behalf of the Belarusian people and myself I send my sincere words of condolence and support. We share the pain of loss and express our solidarity with Iran at this difficult time,» the condolence message reads.
