«Uzbekistan is one of our country’s key partners. It ranks fourth among destinations for Belarusian food exports. Meat accounts for around 70% of our export basket, and last year’s figures were very strong. Together with our colleagues, we have agreed to maintain and increase the volume of supplies to the Uzbek market this year. We have set indicative volumes to ensure steady and regular deliveries,» Aleksandr Yakovchits said.

Part of the export portfolio consists of processed dairy products. «We are significantly increasing supplies of both skimmed and whole milk powders. We are actively expanding shipments of baby food. From Uzbekistan, we import certain types of berries and fruits that are not grown in Belarus. Cooperation with this country is unimpeded,» the deputy minister noted.

The government delegation led by Belarus’ Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin is visiting Uzbekistan this week.
