MFA: Belarus condemns NATO top commander’s ‘Theory of Victory’

14.10.2026 | 13:00

Belarus strongly condemns the statements made by NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Alexus Grynkewich, who presented the so-called «Theory of Victory,» Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ruslan Varankov told BelTA.

The foreign ministry’s press secretary pointed out that the presented NATO concept involves launching preemptive strikes on the territory of Belarus using drones and unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs).

«The aggressive rhetoric of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is becoming increasingly systemic. Without any threats from Belarus and without any real grounds for conflict, NATO is drawing up plans to build up its military presence near the borders and launch strikes against the territory of a sovereign state,» Ruslan Varankov emphasized. «Under the guise of defensive wording, the bloc is effectively paving the way for military escalation and aggression.»

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that Belarus has never threatened anyone, and its Military Doctrine is purely defensive. «We consistently advocate for openness, de-escalation, and equal dialogue. We call on our Western colleagues to show common sense and begin working together to restore mutual trust,» the press secretary said.

In October, General Alexus Grynkewich, Commander of U. S. European Command and NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe, presented the alliance’s plan titled as Theory of Victory: How Do We Achieve Military Success Against Russia in Deterrence and Defense? According to him, the document aims to demonstrate NATO’s detailed strategy to prevent a Russian attack, repel it, and defeat the enemy using all available forces and capabilities while leveraging modern developments.
