Earlier, media reported that Spain’s Civil Guard and Spain’s Customs Control Service had dismantled a criminal organization involved in the production and distribution of counterfeit and smuggled tobacco products in the provinces of Malaga, Cordoba and Seville. According to the reports, the operation freed 18 individuals of various nationalities, including citizens of Belarus, China and Vietnam, who had been forced to work in inhumane conditions.
The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working to clarify these details. The Belarusian Embassy in Spain remains in contact with local police. If necessary, consular and legal assistance will be provided to the affected Belarusian citizens.
