The project is included in the investment program of Brest Oblast. The sports complex is being built in the southeastern part of the district center on the grounds of the children’s and youth sports school. «Lyakhovichi does not have a swimming pool. Local residents had approached the district and oblast executive committees, as well as MPs, with requests to build such a facility,» the district executive committee said.

Construction began in spring, and the building’s outline is already taking shape. Work currently includes vertical layout, foundation and floor installation, and wall masonry. The sports complex will feature a 25-meter pool with a warm-up area, a children’s pool, a gym, a medical room, and a coaches’ room. Visitors will have access to comfortable changing rooms and showers. Completion is scheduled for 2027.

Several other sports facilities are being built in Brest Oblast. In Vysokoye, Kamenets District, a sports complex with a gym and adult and children’s pools is under construction. In Gantsevichi, a fitness and recreation center is expected to open. In Brest, construction of a specialized indoor hockey hall is planned for completion by the end of this year. A long-term program has also been developed. For example, design estimates have been prepared for a multifunctional sports complex in Drogichin, with construction slated to begin in 2027. Next year, the Athletics Arena in the regional center is also set to undergo major renovations.
