NASB expands partnership with Russia’s Kaluga Oblast

The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) and Kaluga Oblast of Russia plan to strengthen cooperation in smart farming and biotechnology, BelTA learned from the NASB press service.

The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus hosted a working meeting between Deputy Chairman of the NASB Presidium Piotr Kazakevich and a delegation from Russia’s Kaluga Oblast headed by Agriculture Minister Alexander Efremov.

The parties discussed promising areas of mutually beneficial cooperation and exchanged views on the current state of agriculture in Belarus and Kaluga Oblast.

Special attention was given to the introduction of innovative technologies in agriculture, including smart farming, digitalization, and biotechnology.

Piotr Kazakevich stressed the strong potential for agricultural cooperation with Kaluga Oblast, emphasizing the importance of scientific support for this sector. «We are ready to share our experience in breeding and genetics and our developments in effective crop protection,» he said.
