A surgical team at the national center of cardiology successfully completed a highly complex, combined minimally invasive aortic valve implantation on an 81-year-old patient.
The patient was diagnosed with multivessel coronary artery disease alongside critical aortic valve stenosis.
The surgical team performed multivessel coronary artery stenting followed by transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). This marks the first time in the country’s medical history that a next-generation Navitor Vision valve from Abbott has been used. The system features three Vision radiopaque markers for highly accurate valve positioning and deployment, as well as a custom cuff that actively conforms to the anatomical irregularities of the valve ring.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the center’s multidisciplinary team, the senior patient’s severe heart defect complex comorbidities were successfully resolved through a fully endovascular procedure.
