The visit will last through 24 April. Particular attention during the upcoming meetings with the leadership of the House of Representatives will be paid to discussing ways to strengthen economic partnership, develop trade ties, and implement joint investment projects. The parties will consider cooperation priorities in areas such as agriculture, industry, science and technology, as well as cultural exchanges.

Earlier, the press service of the House of Representatives noted that the visit of a delegation from this authoritative parliamentary organization is an important step toward building closer dialogue between Belarus and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. It is intended to facilitate the exchange of experience in parliamentary activities and discussions of current international topics. A constructive and fruitful dialogue is anticipated to serve as the foundation for long-term strategic partnership.

PARLATINO is a regional inter-parliamentary organization founded in Lima, Peru, in December 1964. PARLATINO brings together the parliamentary structures of all Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as Brazil, Haiti, Suriname, and the Dutch dependent territories. In total, the organization represents 23 parliamentary structures (representing countries with a population of over 660 million people). The main goals of the organization are to accelerate political, economic, and cultural integration in Latin America, and to promote the harmonization of legislation in Latin American countries in the fields of education, healthcare, environmental protection, and the fight against drug trafficking. The Parliament of the Republic of Belarus has held permanent observer status at PARLATINO for 10 years (since 2016).
