«Operational data on economic performance for January is already available. GDP stood at 98.8% (against a first-quarter forecast of 101.2%). Agriculture posted a decent result — 103.5% compared to January 2025. However, we did not reach last year’s levels in industry (96.6%) and investments (88%). This was influenced by both objective factors (declining demand in our key market, weather conditions, primarily for construction) and subjective ones — the sluggishness of certain managers, including in utilizing allocated resources. The government reviewed the January results with the participation of sectoral ministers and directors of key enterprises. All tasks have been set,» Aleksandr Turchin said.
