Belarus’ new potato harvest reached approximately 53,000 tonnes from more than 1,000 hectares, or 6% of planted areas. The yield averages 370 centners per hectare, which is 11 centners per hectare higher than last year. By region, the harvest is as follows: Mogilev Oblast- 24,000 tonnes, Brest Oblast — 14,000 tonnes, Minsk Oblast — 5,000 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast and Gomel Oblast — 4,000 tonnes each, Grodno Oblast — 2,000 tonnes," the press service reported.
The grain harvest including rapeseed amounted to 9.141 million tonnes. The regional breakdown is the following: Minsk Oblast — 2.408 million tonnes, Grodno Oblast — 1.838 million tonnes, Brest Oblast — 1.668 million tonnes, Mogilev Oblast — 1.192 million tonnes, Gomel Oblast — 1.091 million tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast — 944,000 tonnes.
Grain and leguminous crops (including rapeseed, without corn) have been harvested from 2,452,000 hectares. Deliveries under the state procurement order include: 652,000 tonnes of food grain (98% of the target); and 93,000 tonnes of malting barley (109% of the target).
Sugar beets have been harvested from 9% of planted areas or 10,000 hectares out of the 109,000 hectares. A total of 426,000 tonnes of beets have been cropped, with an average yield of 411 centners per hectare. By region, the harvest is as follows: Minsk Oblast — 244,000 tonnes, Grodno Oblast — 146,000 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast — 29,000 tonnes, Brest Oblast — 7,000 tonnes. «The regions are harvesting at a pace exceeding last year’s,» the press service noted.
Corn for silage and green fodder has been harvested from 8% of planted areas (or 77,000 hectares). Second cut was harvested across an area of 911,000 hectares or 90% of the plan.
Hay production has reached 562,000 tonnes or 78% of the plan. Silage harvest progress stands at 1.6 million tonnes (8%). Forage grass harvest reached 4.2 million tonnes or 41% of the target. Haylage production has reached 12.3 million tonnes, or 86% of the target.
Fertilizer stocks (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) for winter planting have been procured at 157% of the planned requirement.
