The report focused on the sowing campaign in the Vitebsk Region and its progress, taking into account the climatic conditions typical of the northernmost area of the country. The Head of State was informed about the sowing process and which crops are given priority. To date, about 40 percent of the area has been sown in the Vitebsk Region, and the acreage of corn and alfalfa is planned to be expanded.
Calf nurseries construction was one of the key topics of the report. The President wondered how his instructions aimed at ensuring the safety of young cattle are being implemented, and he was reported that a total of about 150 nurseries are planned to be built in the Vitebsk Region. Work in this direction is already underway.
The personnel work, including at agricultural enterprises, was also reported on, and the Head of State was informed on the measures taken to create decent working and living conditions for young professionals.
Another topic tackled the purchase of machinery for farmers in the region. The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed on the availability of agricultural machinery, the need for new equipment, and the organisation of the procurement process. As it was reported to the President, work in this direction has been established both with domestic enterprises and, for example, with the St. Petersburg Tractor Plant (which uses many Belarusian components in its production).
