30.10.2026 | 14:00

The Russian and Ukrainian sides have provided details of the evacuation of civilians from Oleshky in Kherson Oblast. Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova said buses and ambulances had been prepared to take people out of the town as part of the humanitarian mission.

«Special buses have been arranged for bedridden patients in case they are needed. We have prepared around 30 seats, plus 9 additional ambulances,» she said. A separate bus will also be provided for people with pets.

People will be able to leave the town until 14:00 Moscow time on 30 October, with the necessary safety measures in place. Humanitarian aid is due to be distributed after 14:30. A TASS correspondent reports that a large aid convoy set off for Oleshky today. Civilians will receive everything they need, including food, hygiene products, medicines and fuel.

Yana Lantratova said the ceasefire in Kherson Oblast, declared for the humanitarian mission in Oleshky, is holding, with no incidents recorded. She said the Russian and Ukrainian sides are fully honoring their commitments.

Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets also noted that «neither side has violated the ceasefire even once.» He pointed out that the ceasefire in the Kherson area is the first time since 2022 that Russia and Ukraine have been able to implement such a measure along a large section of the front and for so long. «I want to stress that the ceasefire between Ukraine and the Russian Federation has now held for more than 75 hours. Special thanks to the people who accompany and monitor the process,» Dmitry Lubinets said.

A reminder, the humanitarian mission in the town of Oleshky in Kherson Oblast has been in preparation since May, with every stage carefully thought through, including the preparation of the humanitarian convoy. Russian military personnel completed demining of routes for the humanitarian mission in Oleshky on 29 October.

The Belarusian side officially joined the humanitarian operation. A flight carrying representatives of the Russian and Ukrainian delegations involved in the operation departed from Gomel Airport on 29 October.

To carry out the humanitarian operation, the Russian and Ukrainian sides, with U. S. mediation, and above all that of Melania Trump, the wife of the U. S. leader, reached an agreement on a ceasefire in the area of the town. The ceasefire has been in effect since 04:00 (Moscow time) on 27 October and will remain in force until 22:59 on 1 November. An independent U. S. media organization will accompany and document the actions of the Russian and Ukrainian groups on the ground throughout the process.
