«Cuba is an internationally recognized defender of true human rights at all international venues. It is important to be friends with a state that is a prominent member of international organizations, it is always very principled, consistent and vocal about its stance; it is involved in many international processes and is respected by leaders of almost the entire world, and the foundation for this was laid by Fidel Castro,» Maksim Ryzhenkov said.
The Belarusian foreign minister also noted that political contacts with Cuba are of primary interest to Belarus: «This includes the development of a common agenda, response to challenges and threats of our time, support in international organizations and during elections, coordination of positions, voting on country resolutions.»
