Maxim Ryzhenkov met His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Crown Prince of Oman and the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs. The parties emphasised the high level of Belarus-Oman political dialogue, underpinned by close friendly relations between the countries’ leaders.
Maxim Ryzhenkov and Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said spoke highly of the Belarusian-Omani Joint Committee on Co-operation and Investment inaugural meeting, as well as the bilateral sessions between industry and business communities.
«The first practical steps towards the mutual opening of embassies in Minsk and Muscat, which are intended to promote the development, primarily, of trade and economic relations, the expansion of existing and the establishment of new official and interpersonal contacts, were noted with satisfaction. The parties confirmed their mutual interest in continuing regular dialogue at the highest and high levels, as well as their readiness to participate in events held in Belarus and Oman,» the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Belarusian FM also met his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr Albusaidi to discuss the schedule of bilateral events for the near future, including consultations between foreign ministries this year. The meeting emphasised fruitful co-operation between the diplomatic services. Sayyid Badr Albusaidi highlighted the importance of the Belarusian delegation’s visit to Oman.
«The Foreign Ministers confirmed the convergence of positions and mutual support on key issues within the framework of cooperation at international platforms. The importance of developing economic ties, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, which serve as a basis for strengthening and developing the entire spectrum of Belarusian-Omani relations, was emphasized,» the MFA stated.
Oman took an interest in organising university student exchanges, mainly for those studying medicine, with science, technology and healthcare seen as promising areas for deepening co-operation.
Maxim Ryzhenkov invited Oman’s Foreign Minister to Minsk for an official visit.
The Belarusian delegation’s meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, Saud bin Hamoud bin Ahmed Al Habsi, noted that both countries’ economies are complementary, offering the prospect of a significant increase in trade in the near future. Both countries are keen on food supplies, with Oman looking to import dairy and meat products, cheese and butter, whereas Belarus needs fish, seafood, dates and fruit.

«One of the main areas of practical cooperation is the work currently being carried out to create joint ventures on the territory of the Sultanate, including for the production of baby food and milk powder. The use of Oman’s advantageous geopolitical position in the region will ensure the supply of Belarusian products not only to Oman, but also to the markets of other countries in the Persian Gulf and East Africa,» the Foreign Ministry added.
The delegation presented Belarusian agricultural machinery and self-propelled equipment, adapted to operate in Oman, as well as invited the Omani partners to visit the Belagro-2026 exposition in June.
The Belarusian diplomats also met Anwar bin Hilal Al Jabri, Oman’s Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. In addition to D2C, Oman expressed its interest in establishing joint industrial enterprises in both countries, particularly for Belarusian road and special-purpose equipment, commercial vehicles, and firefighting equipment. The parties outlined next steps to expand the range of Belarusian products for supply to markets in Oman and other countries.
Belarus and Oman held a business forum under the patronage of Maxim Ryzhenkov and Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority. Speaking at the opening were representatives of the National Export Promotion Centre, Belarus’ MFA and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The forum brought together over 200 Omani companies engaged in banking, food, industry, investment, pharmaceuticals and IT. Apart from showcases of Belarus’ export potential, the event offered opportunities for B2B networking and dedicated sessions for business communities.
