In the second round of qualifying, the Belarusian world No. 136 lost to Czechia’s Vendula Valdmannova (No. 165) in a nearly three-hour battle, 7-5, 3-6, 1-6. Aliaksandra Sasnovich opened her campaign with a straight-sets victory over Hungary’s Dalma Galfi (No. 157), 7-6 (7-5), 6-3.
Earlier, two other Belarusian players had exited the tournament. Iryna Shymanovich (No. 191) bowed out in the second round of qualifying, while Aliona Falei (No. 222) suffered an opening-round defeat.
The US Open main draw will take place in New York from 30 August to 13 September. The final Grand Slam of the season offers a historic $108 million in overall prize money, awarding a record $5.5 million check to both singles winners. Defending champions are Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus and Carlos Alcaraz of Spain, who captured the singles titles in 2025.
