Belarusian tennis player Aliaksandra Sasnovich has failed to reach the US Open final qualifying round, BelTA has learned.

In the second round of qualifying, the Belarusian world No. 136 lost to Czechia’s Vendula Valdmannova (No. 165) in a nearly three-hour battle, 7-5, 3-6, 1-6. Aliaksandra Sasnovich opened her campaign with a straight-sets victory over Hungary’s Dalma Galfi (No. 157), 7-6 (7-5), 6-3.

Earlier, two other Belarusian players had exited the tournament. Iryna Shymanovich (No. 191) bowed out in the second round of qualifying, while Aliona Falei (No. 222) suffered an opening-round defeat.

The US Open main draw will take place in New York from 30 August to 13 September. The final Grand Slam of the season offers a historic $108 million in overall prize money, awarding a record $5.5 million check to both singles winners. Defending champions are Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus and Carlos Alcaraz of Spain, who captured the singles titles in 2025.
