Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Aleksei Trukhanov held a working meeting with representatives of the Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Attention was focused on joint R&D efforts in biotechnology and on modern methods of livestock breeding, including poultry farming, as well as cooperation in veterinary medicine. The parties also discussed prospects of exchanging technologies and the joint projects that will help strengthen food security at a brand new level.

Aleksei Trukhanov emphasized that Belarusian-Chinese scientific and technical cooperation has a good, long-standing foundation, and now the main task for scientists is to introduce innovations into the real sector of the economy. «The implementation of our agreements will allow us not only to strengthen bilateral scientific ties, but also to make a significant contribution to the development of the agribusiness sector of both countries, making it more efficient and up-to-date,» he said.
