Sharamkou, Kuzmenkova advance to FIG Apparatus World Cup 2026 finals

The first of six stages of the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series has kicked off in Cottbus, Germany, featuring Belarusian athletes, BelTA has learned.


On the first day of the tournament, qualifying competitions were held in three apparatus for the men and two for the women. In the floor exercise, the leader of the Belarusian team, Yahor Sharamkou, scored 14.100 points, securing second place among 34 participants, while Yaraslau Krutau finished 21st. The top eight advanced to the final. On the uneven bars for women, Ulyana Kuzmenkova rounded out the top 8 (12.666 points); the Belarusian also posted the 17th result in the vault.

On 20 February, Sharamkou and Krutau will compete for a spot in the final in the vault, while Kuzmenkova, along with Anastasiya Smantsar, will perform on the balance beam and in the floor exercise. Medals at the Cottbus tournament will be contested on Saturday and Sunday. In the 2025 World Cup series, Yahor Sharamkou won one medal of each color, and our Alena Tsitavets was a stage winner on the uneven bars in Baku.
