The guests were welcomed at the new House of the Belarusian Women’s Union. As Olga Shpilevskaya, Chairperson of the Belarusian Women’s Union, noted, this is the first cooperation with the Rostov Oblast branch of the Union of Women of Russia, but the areas for joint work are diverse and are reflected in the agreement. The document was signed by Olga Shpilevskaya and Tatyana Onopriyenko, an active member of the Rostov branch and head of its Rodionovo-Nesvetayskaya district section.
One of the key areas of cooperation is entrepreneurship. During the meeting, the sides presented their business projects. «Entrepreneurial initiatives are actively developing between the Union of Women of Russia and the Belarusian Women’s Union. This is the area set for us by the head of state — every visit should bring an economic effect. Of course, we women communicate among ourselves, but when it gives an impetus to the development of women’s business, it is very important,» Olga Shpilevskaya emphasized.
Another interesting area for joint work is culture. The visitors were presented with an exhibition of folk crafts, and enjoyed a creative performance by a Belarusian ensemble, and also demonstrated their own traditions. «I am confident that our cooperation will continue with exchanges of creative groups, which is very important as it represents a cultural exchange,» the chairperson of the Belarusian Women’s Union added.
Issues of education, tourism, and the social sector were also discussed as part of the cooperation. «Healthcare always remains a relevant issue. Women’s health comes first because it is fundamental to the nation’s health. This issue receives particular attention in Belarus and the Russian Federation,» Olga Shpilevskaya said.
In turn, Tatyana Onopriyenko added that the cooperation between the two unions is necessary for cultivating matters of family, motherhood, and childhood. «Our Belarusian friends are engaged in the same area, and it’s wonderful when we unite and create what is good, kind, and eternal together, on such a large scale,» she said.
According to her, the Rostov branch of the Union of Women of Russia wants to organize twin schools between Belarus and Rostov Oblast. «It is very interesting when we teach children friendship from an early age, not just in words but directly in practice. We will visit you and invite you to Russia. This way, children expand their social circle and worldview, so I believe we should cooperate very closely in the future,» Tatyana Onopriyenko said.
In conclusion, Olga Shpilevskaya expressed hope that such meetings would become regular and yield results in the near future.
